Green Space & Fiber Optic Cable

One of the under appreciated attributes of life here in The Sea Ranch is that we are surrounded by so much of what city dwellers refer to as "Green Space." The ten miles of the northern California coast that is the Ranch itself is, of course, fifty percent commons and that all by itself ensures a much different experience for those of us living in this community, but there is more, much more.

Gualala Point Regional Park is north of the Ranch, extensive commercial forest extends east of the Ranch, and many miles of agricultural land stretch to the south of the Ranch. Other major state and national parks are located south and north of us. The Pacific Ocean is, of course west of us. One of the benefits of our location is that we are blessed with some of the cleanest air left in this world. Obviously, there is also ample room to explore the natural world with about a hundred miles of developed hiking trail within very easy reach.

At the other end of the spectrum of life in this very modern world, The Sea Ranch is in the process of installing a fiber optic cable system that will provide us with world class internet connections in our homes. This will make it possible to take advantage of all that the world wide web offers and do it at 50 mbps speeds. The first homes are being connected right now.

The juxtaposition of the natural and modern worlds is one of the things that makes The Sea Ranch a very unique life experience. Being able to breathe really fresh air is a very important additional advantage that is unfortunately becoming rarer and rarer in this increasingly crowded world. Give me a call when you are next planning to come up this way and I will be happy to show you some of my favorite trails and discuss how we can become neighbors.
