Hope Everyone had a Great Thanksgiving!

November has proven to be a delightfully wet month. No huge storms, but several good rains have renewed our seasonal streams and reactivated our numerous small waterfalls along the bluff. Underground aquifers are being replenished. The ocean is cantankerous with huge waves crashing against all of the points of land along the coast. Turnstones and Surfbirds flit in the rocks dodging the spray from the waves. All kinds of mushrooms are poking up along the trails and the wild grasses are greening. Thanksgiving was celebrated all though the Ranch with family and friends in all of the usual ways. The Local Lions Club and the Gualala Chamber of Commerce sponsored the Lighted Truck Parade and Gualala Arts sponsored the Festival of the Trees. The Sea Ranch Volunteer Fire Department is selling Christmas trees. Life in The Sea Ranch is as it should be.

While there is absolutely no question but that nature is one of the more important attractions of living here in the Ranch, it is important to also note the community that will be your neighbors when you move here. A group of accomplished individuals with extremely diverse backgrounds and equally diverse interests. A spirit of volunteerism that is alive and well and a self-government, drawn from the community, that effectively reflects the values of the community. A community that is intellectually connected to the issues of our time and intent on living lightly on the land. Interest groups are plentiful and diverse. The arts and crafts are very much alive and well and encompass every medium imaginable. Lots going on, but nothing forced on any of us. It is absolutely not necessary to engage in any of these multitudinous activities if you do not want to participate.

Winter is a great time to visit and I would love to facilitate your exploration of this community in any way that I can. We can look at the properties that are currently on the market and, if we do not find one that fits your needs, I can start looking for it and let you know the moment that it comes on the market. I look forward to hearing from you.
