Spring is here.

March came and went in the blink of an eye, some fairly wet weather, and increasingly busy days. The real estate business this time of year can be characterized as being “brisk.” The sun is out, wild flowers are starting to appear all over the Ranch and the Spring avian migration has commenced. The trails are getting a good workout and the restaurants are full of customers. Even so, there is plenty of room for you to squeeze in a visit if you can find a day or two in your schedule. I would love to show you around the Ranch, learn what kind of property you are interested in and show you what is available at the present time. If we can’t find exactly what you want right now, I can keep my eye open for it and let you know when it comes on the market.

One of the things that some people don’t realize is that there is a wide variety of different kinds of residential property available here in The Sea Ranch. The bluff top properties get a lot of attention, but there are also homes in the meadows, on the hill-side, and in the forest fringe. Prices vary dramatically as well. Each of the different areas of the Ranch has it’s own charm and microclimate. Although the concept of a microclimate does not receive much attention in large metropolitan areas, those of us who live here in The Sea Ranch full time are very well aware of the importance of the phenomenon. As we tour the community during your visit, I can explain and illustrate more easily what I am talking about.

Another important factor to consider is that, although their number is dwindling, there are still lots available on which you can build your own dream house that fits your needs exactly. The architectural and construction skills that have developed in the last five or six decades in this community are very impressive. New materials, new appliances, new procedures combined with very experienced craftspeople are all readily available for application to your project. When you visit, I can tell you about what some of our neighbors are doing to take advantage of all of this in both new construction and remodel work. It is a fascinating story.
